Before you start

You will need your Shield connected to a 4K TV and to the internet, ideally over Ethernet, the Google account it is signed in to, and your CosyTelly login. Any Shield TV or Shield TV Pro model works.

Step by step

Step by step: get a player onto your Shield

1

Easiest: use Google Play

Open the Play Store on your Shield, search for a player such as IPTV Smarters Pro and install it. If the app you want is on Play, that is all you need, so skip to logging in below.

2

For other apps, get Downloader

In the Play Store, search for Downloader and install the free app.

3

Allow unknown apps

Go to Settings, then Device Preferences, then Security & restrictions. Open Unknown sources and switch Downloader on.

4

Enter the app's code

Open Downloader and type the Downloader code shown on the app you want below. Let it download, then choose Install.

5

Activate a paid app

IBO Player Pro and Hot Player lock to your device. Open the app to see its MAC address, then follow the activation steps inside its card below.

  2. Pick Xtream Codes, not M3U.
  3. Enter the username and password from your CosyTelly message.
  4. If the app asks for a server URL, copy it from the same message exactly as written.
  5. Press Save or Add User, and your channels load.

  5. Give the playlist any name and press Save.
  6. Restart the app on your device, and your channels appear.
Hot Player has two separate pages, so do not mix them up: Upload is where you paste your M3U link (free during the trial), and Activation is where you pay for the app once you have tried it and want to keep it.

Lost your username, password or M3U link? Message us and we will resend it.

Troubleshooting

Troubleshooting IPTV on Nvidia Shield

Downloader won't install apps

Go to Settings → Device Preferences → Security & restrictions → Unknown sources and check Downloader is switched on.

4K doesn't look sharp

Check the Shield's display settings are set to 4K and your TV's HDMI input supports it, then play a 4K channel on a connection of at least 25 Mbps.

The app is awkward with the remote

Some players are designed for touchscreens. IPTV Smarters Pro and XtremeHD Player are easy to use with the Shield remote.

My login is rejected

The server URL must start with http://, not https://, and usernames and passwords are case-sensitive.

Still stuck? Message us on WhatsApp with your device, the app you are using and a photo of any error, and we will sort it out with you.

Questions

Nvidia Shield IPTV FAQ

Is the Nvidia Shield good for IPTV?

It is one of the best. It handles 4K comfortably, has Ethernet built in, and runs every Android player, from Google Play or by sideloading with Downloader.

Do I need Downloader on a Shield?

Only for apps that are not on Google Play. IPTV Smarters Pro and IBO Player Pro install straight from the Play Store; XtremeHD Player and Hot Player use Downloader codes.

Can I use the Shield and a Firestick on one plan?

Yes. Install a player on both and log in with the same details. A 1-connection plan plays on one screen at a time, so choose 2 connections if both are often watching together.
